Just five years after beginning his law career in Kentucky -- and three years after establishing his own law practice -- attorney Grover Arnett was elected by citizens, peers and more as Magoffin County Attorney. He would serve as this elected prosecutor from 1994 through 1999. In this role, Arnett discovered several successes, including assisting in Knott County’s first-ever marijuana cultivation conviction. In this role, Arnett also helped to block the illegal establishment of an out-of-state garbage dump in the region. Among DUI offenses during his five years of service, Arnett achieved a 95% conviction rate. Lastly, he helped to achieve Magoffin County’s largest drug conviction in its history. Although his elected service ended in 1999, Grover Arnett continues to achieve successes as an attorney in the Salyersville area.
